On a recent trip to a shopping mall, I rounded a corner to see a toddler standing at the bottom of the escalator, happily applying his tongue to the black rubber handrail as it rolled by, round and round. I think he liked the salt. Even before Covid, this would have been a little alarming. My first thought was, “Where is the parent?” I burst out laughing a moment later when his horrified mother arrived, grabbed her son, and quickly looked around to see if anyone was watching--and judging. I gave her a big thumbs up.
HA! The only thing worse than losing your own kid is losing someone else's! For my son's 10th birthday we took 10 friends to a Globetrotters game and when we got back to the limo I counted only nine! The tiniest guy was missing! After a terrifying backtracking through the madhouse of a post-game arena, we found each other. Happy Birthday.
What a great read to start another day of parenting! James is a climber and loves to crawl away with a mischievous smile and a giggle… I suspect he will be a runner as well. I anticipate a summer of bumped heads and mouthfuls of dirt ahead of us !
lol....I lost Dylan at toysrus.....I had half the store looking for him by the time I found him......barrelling down an aisle is one of those little red and yellow Flintstone feet power cars.......
We will need a leash and a lifejacket for the wedding!

Just remember that dirt is good for kids!

Love this one Annie.
You're as good a writer as you are a photographer!
Thank you! What a lovely thing to say.
